Business Consultant Website Design Case Study – WEconsults

The Business

WEconsults needed a business consultant website that could hold its own against the calibre of clients it already served. Founded by Will Evans, WEconsults is a UK consulting business advising councils, event organisers, and large organisations across two specialisms: business consultancy and fireworks & pyrotechnics safety. Will’s track record includes work on major public events – LFC trophy parades, Cunard ship namings, and HMS aircraft carrier visits for audiences in the millions.

Before this project, the business had no visual identity and no consulting website everything ran on reputation and direct referral. The goal was to design a website that matched the trust WEconsults had already earned offline.

The Challenge

WEconsults isn’t one service – it’s three: Fireworks & Pyrotechnics, Business Consultancy, and a discreet third offering, Mystery Consults. A consulting website for a business like this had to hold all three together under one identity without any of them feeling like an afterthought.

Key challenges included:

  • Unifying three distinct service lines under one coherent consulting business brand
  • Speaking to a council-level, risk-averse audience without sounding generic
  • Building online credibility for a consultancy with no prior public-facing presence
  • Structuring the site around discretion – no public phone number, address, or social links, by design

The Discovery

We started with brand identity before touching layout. Logo directions went through structured review rounds until we landed on a clean, restrained mark that worked equally well in colour, mono, and reversed variants.

  • Developed and tested multiple logo directions
  • Defined a colour system (navy + copper) and typography pairing (Manrope + Inter)
  • Documented everything in a full brand guide for consistent use across the consulting website and print
  • Mapped out the three service lines and how they should be ordered and weighted on the site

The Build

The consulting website was built on a structured WordPress base, with dedicated service pages for each specialism and a homepage designed to introduce all three without diluting any of them. Every section went through detailed review — copy, layout, and function — before sign-off.

  • Custom-structured pages for Fireworks & Pyrotechnics, Business Consultancy, and Mystery Consults
  • Contact and footer built around discretion — no public contact trail, by design
  • Real client testimonials sourced and placed, including from Culture Liverpool
  • Homepage credibility section built around claims that hold up to scrutiny, not generic stats
  • Professional headshot photography commissioned to replace placeholder imagery

The Refinement

Launch didn’t mean done. We ran multiple structured feedback rounds — line-by-line notes on wording, tone, layout, and flow — refining everything from tagline phrasing to how services were ordered, until the consulting website matched exactly how Will wanted the business represented.
